The Board of Health has been awarded a grant from the State of Ohio Commission on Minority Health. This ordinance is needed to accept and appropriate $5,000.00 in grant money to fund the Community Chats Program.The Community Chats Program will enable the Health Department to collect information from community residents and focused community-based organizations and leaders concerning health issues and community-identified interventions. One or two meetings will be held in the Black, Hispanic, Native American, Indian, and Asian communities.
This grant is for the period June 1, 2003 through December 31, 2003.
Emergency action is requested to allow the financial transaction to be posted in the City's accounting system as soon as possible. Up to date financial posting promotes accurate accounting and financial management.
FISCAL IMPACT: This program is entirely funded by the State of Ohio Commission on Minority Health and is budgeted in the 2003 Health Department Grants Fund. This grant will not generate revenue or require a City match.
