Explanation

The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Ordinance 1014-2021 in order to correct the name of the vendor that is being awarded the contract for the purchase of Knife Gate Valves.

The purpose of Ordinance 1014-2021 was to authorize the Director of Finance and Management to enter into contract for the purchase of Knife Gate Valves to be used by the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant to replace current valves.

The reason that Public Utilities is requesting this amendment is due to the fact that the original Ordinance 1014-2021, passed by Columbus City Council on May 17, 2021 and signed by the Mayor on May 18, 2021, referenced the vendor name incorrectly. Within the ordinance it allowed for the Director of Finance and Management to enter into contract with Baker & Sons dba Dark Water Solutions under the Federal ID #45-3933625. The company has now confirmed that they will be operating under the name Dark Water Solutions Ltd dba Baker and Associates Ltd.

Dark Water Solutions Ltd dba Baker & Associates Ltd does not hold MBE/FBE status.

The company is not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.

FISCAL IMPACT: Auditor’s Certificate #ACPR001972 from Ordinance 1014-2021 will be utilized to establish the new contract after this Ordinance has passed. No additional funds are requested at this time.

EMERGENCY DESIGNATION: This ordinance is being submitted as an emergency to allow for the establishment of the contract under the correct company name without delay.
