To recognize City of  Columbus Public Utilities Director Tanya Arsh upon her appointment as Vice-Chair of the Legislative Policy Committee for The National Association of Clean Water Agencies.

WHEREAS, Public Utilities Director Tanya Arsh has served the City of Columbus and the Department of Public Utilities with distinction since 1996; and
 
WHEREAS, Since assuming the position of director in 2007, Director Arsh has led the department's efforts to provide outstanding service to more than one million customers; and
 
WHEREAS, Director Arsh has become a nationally recognized leader in her field over the course of her successful career; and
 
WHEREAS, the director has applied her experience and leadership in service to the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, whose mission and mandate is the protection of our nation's water quality; and
 
WHEREAS, Director Arsh has recently been named Vice Chair of NACWA's Legislative Policy Committee, and in her new role will lead the association's federal legislative agenda and advocacy efforts on behalf of public clean water agencies nationwide; and  
 
WHEREAS, this body is confident that in her service to NACWA, Director Arsh will continue to bring recognition and honor to the City of Columbus and to the dedicated employees of the Department of Public Utilities; now, therefore  
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this Council hereby congratulates Public Utilities Director Tanya Arsh on her appointment as Vice-Chair of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies' Legislative Policy Committee, and expresses its gratitude for her years of service to the city.
