Title: To authorize the City Treasurer to extend a contract with Fifth Third Bank and its processing agent, Fifth Third Processing Solution, for the provision of credit card processing services. and to declare an emergency.
Explanation

The purpose of this ordinance is to extent the contract date on the existing contract with Fifth Third Bank, and its processing agent, Fifth Third Processing Solutions, for the provision of processing credit card payments for various divisions of the City of Columbus. As a result of a Request for Proposal for credit card processing services on September 6, 2005, the Depository Commission awarded Huntington Bank the City's credit card processing services effective March 1, 2006. Unfortunately, Huntington will not be able to start services on March 1,2006 as anticipated. Fifth Third Bank, and its credit card processing agent, Fifth Third Processing Solutions have agreed to continue to process such payments until its services are no longer needed, but not to exceed April 15, 2006.

This contract extension date will be applicable for the existing contracts with the following departments:
