Explanation
The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Director of Public Utilities to enter into contract with General Maintenance and Engineering Company for the Whittier Street Tanks Site Improvements for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage.
The storm tanks located at 155 W. Whittier Street are in need of improvements that consist of but not limited to: concrete repair, re-surfacing the Olentangy-Scioto Intercepter Sewer, stairways that are chipping, gutter inlet repair along the south roadway and patching and sealing of the site's asphalt.
Bids were opened on November 19, 2003 by the Director of Public Utilities. Two (2) bids were received as follows:
General Maintenance and Engineering Co. $282,593.00
The Righter Company: $328,700.00
SUPPLIER: General Maintenance and Engineering Company (31-4188545)
FISCAL IMPACT: $339,593.00 is needed and budgeted for this project. The funding amount includes contingency dollars.

WHEREAS, the storm tank located at 155 W. Whittier Street are in need of various maintenance repairs and replacement, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Utilities opened formal bids on November 19, 2003, two (2) bids were received, and
WHEREAS, after review of the bids, and award recommendation was made to General Maintenance and Engineering Company, the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder, now therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
