($40,000.00)

...Background

Columbus City School District students represent many diverse backgrounds. Some students have access to and utilize adequate health services; others for a variety of reasons may not. Columbus Public Health and Nationwide Children’s Hospital have health services available to Columbus City School youth, however these services are often under-utilized by those who would benefit from them. Additionally, there has not been a recent, fully-documented, population-based assessment of Columbus City Schools youth health to know whether the health services being provided are those most in need. The work achieved as a result of this contract will allow Partners to have increased knowledge of local child and adolescent health trends, and allow Partners with the resources to impact student health to intentionally collaborate in discussing recommendations toward a plan to address the most critical student health needs. This contract is in the amount of $40,000.00 and is for the period December 1, 2014 through November 30, 2015.

Access HealthColumbus (Contract Compliance No. 510426050) is a nonprofit organization and therefore exempt from Contract Compliance certification. Emergency action is requested in order to implement a health services assessment as soon as possible to determine what health services are most in need for Columbus City Schools’ youth.
FISCAL IMPACT: All expenditures from this contract will be funded by the Health Special Revenue Fund.
