Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to issue a purchase order to FYDA Freightliner Columbus Inc. Columbus Fire Medic M815 was heavily damaged in a vehicular accident. A quote from the manufacturer's authorized repair dealer, FYDA Freightliner Columbus Inc., has been received and approved by Fleet Management to commence repairs.

Emergency Designation: This legislation is to be declared an emergency measure so that the repairs of this front line response apparatus may commence as soon as possible, and avoid any supply chain delays.

FISCAL IMPACT: This ordinance authorizes an expenditure of $50,000.00 for the purchase of body repairs needed on Columbus Fire Division Medic M815. Funds are available within the Fire Division's Safety Bond Fund for repair service. An amendment to the 2023 CIB and a transfer of funds is required to fund this service; this amendment is contingent upon approval of the 2023 Capital Improvement Budget.
