To honor and recognize the 40th Anniversary of Employment for Seniors, Inc.

Body
WHEREAS, Employment for Seniors, Inc. was established in 1972 by Mr. Julian Marcus as a private nonprofit organization designed to increase resources for older citizens seeking employment opportunities; and

WHEREAS, Employment for Seniors, Inc. serves individuals age 50 and older in their search for employment free of charge; and

WHEREAS, Employment for Seniors, Inc. prepares seniors to better navigate the current workforce climate and strives to bring qualified senior job seekers together with employers, creating successful employment opportunities; and

WHEREAS, each year, Employment for Seniors, Inc. holds a Senior Career Expo which provides recruitment activities and targeted workshop training to hundreds of participants, as well as networking and hiring opportunities for local employers; and

WHEREAS, over the past forty years, Employment for Seniors, Inc. has assisted over 27,000 senior job seekers through its employment assistance, job referrals, training programs and advocacy; and

WHEREAS, Employment for Seniors, Inc. has posted nearly 16,000 jobs on their JobMatch System resulting in over 10,000 clients securing employment; and

WHEREAS, although Employment for Seniors, Inc. has been supported, in large part, by contributions from businesses, individuals and foundations, the agency has established a broad range of partnerships with local foundations, government entities, nonprofit organizations and private industry, which recognize the importance of the organization; and

WHEREAS, Employment for Seniors, Inc. has created a greater awareness in the Central Ohio community on the issues facing older workers re-entering the workforce. They provide seniors the personalized employment assistance needed to achieve employment in this changing economic climate; now, therefore
