Explanation

Need: The Division of Police needs to purchase a forklift for the Public Records Warehouse. This purchase will allow pallets of files and material to be moved in a safe and efficient manner.

Bid Information: Four bids were received by the Purchasing Office for Bid # SA002606, Purchase of 3-Wheeled Electric Forklift for the Division of Police which opened September 20, 2007. Overall total prices were as follows: MH Equipment $26,865.88, Clarklift of Ohio $26,062.50, OKI Systems Limited $24,550.20 and Harr's Forklift $22,300.00.

Harr's Forklift was the lowest overall and best bid received per specification, and therefore a contract should be awarded to them.

This company is not debarred according to the Federal excluded parties listing or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State unresolved findings for recovery certified search.

Contract Compliance No: 310812081, expires 02/17/2008

FISCAL IMPACT:

Since this purchase will be made with Law Enforcement Contraband Seizure Funds, there will be no effect on the financial status of the General Fund. A total of $30,000.00 has been appropriated for this purchase through the Law Enforcement Contraband Seizure Funds.
