Explanation
1. BACKGROUND.
This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to execute a professional engineering services contract modification with DLZ Ohio, Inc., for additional construction design services that were performed for the Beulah Road Trunk Sewer Rehabilitation Project which is located in the Glen Echo Ravine of the Clintonville community. The limits of this project will be the Olentangy River to the west, and Interstate 71 to the east.
This contract modification will provide for the payment of additional services that were requested by the Division of Sewerage and Drainage to incorporate the rehabilitation of approximately 6,000 LF of 30" sanitary sewer. This particular sewer is in Glen Echo Ravine, an environmentally sensitive area. Plans and specifications will be completed in 2007 after further input from residents and community groups. Pending land acquisition, the project will be bid for construction in 2008.
2. FISCAL IMPACT.
Although there is sufficient budget authority already available, this legislation includes a necessary cash transfer within the Voted Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund to provide sufficient funding for the project.
