Explanation
Background: In late July, the City will move its Traffic Management Center from 109 N. Front Street to a newly constructed center at 1881 25th Avenue. At that time, certain data equipment and fiber network connections associated with the City’s traffic management system will be moved to the newly constructed Traffic Management Node Room located in the basement of the 77 N. Front Street building. ODOT currently has data and fiber network equipment located in the TMC at 109 N. Front that will need to be installed in the City’s Traffic Management Node Room at 77 N. Front. This ordinance authorizes the Director of Finance and Management to execute a license agreement with ODOT to allow for placement of the ODOT equipment in the City’s Traffic Management Node Room. In exchange for the use of the City’s building space, ODOT will share its traffic cameras, data, fiber connections, and intersection data with the City’s Department of Public Service.

Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested to allow for the immediate installation of ODOT’s equipment in the Traffic Management Node Room.

WHEREAS, the City is moving its Traffic Management Center (TMC) from 109 N. Front Street to a newly constructed center at 1881 25th Avenue in late July; and
