Explanation

Background: The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Director of the Department of Finance and Management to enter into a contract with Nexpro Trucks & Equipment Corp., for the purchase and delivery of one (1) line truck and associated training for the Division of Power, in an amount not to exceed $293,675.00.

The line truck will be used by the Division of Power to enable employees to conduct maintenance type work around power underground and overhead utilities infrastructure. This purchase has been approved by the Division of Fleet Management and will replace BT #25502.

Procurement:
The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with the relevant provisions of City Codes Chapter 329 relating to competitive bidding, RFQ031215. Two hundred forty-seven (247) vendors were solicited, and five (5) bids were received. The bids were opened and evaluated on October 9, 2025. The Division of Power has determined the lowest bidder, Nexpro Trucks & Equipment Corp., be awarded as they were the most responsive, responsible, and best bidder.

After the bids were evaluated, Nexpro Trucks & Equipment Corp.’s stated terms and conditions from the original bid were redacted to accept the City of Columbus’ terms. The vendor also extended the expiration date that was included on their original bid quote. Therefore, a bid waiver is being requested to allow the acceptance of the updated quote that extends the expiration date.
