Explanation
Background:
Ordinance No. 2593-2025, passed by Columbus City Council on December 8, 2025, authorized the expenditure of $152,277.00 to enter into a grant agreement with Ohio State University College of Social Work to support the One Linden Schools Initiative (OLSI).
Fiscal Impact: No additional funds are required.
Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested to allow the Ohio State University College of Social Work OLSI team to continue the OLSI programing without interruption.

Body
WHEREAS, the One Linden Schools Initiative works to ensure schools in Linden function as community hubs, providing access to programs and services that address both academic and non-academic needs; and
WHEREAS, the One Linden Schools Initiative hosts monthly partner meetings (Community Table), PreK enrollment fair, and support partners with reducing summer slide with Hamilton STEM and Windsor STEM elementaries students; and
WHEREAS, after the ordinance passage it was discovered that the Ohio State University College of Social Work would not have adequate time to utilize the grant funds by the end of the grant period; and
WHEREAS, the current grant agreement ends June 30, 2026; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operations of the Department of Neighborhoods in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Director of Neighborhoods to modify and extend the grant agreement with the Ohio State University College of Social Work to prevent delays in ongoing programming needed to advance the One Linden Schools Initiative work, all for the immediate preservation of public ...
