Explanation
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Technology established a contract with Liebert Corporation, Ordinance No. 1160-2006, with the only authorized local service center for the batteries and UPS (Un interruptible Power Systems), used by the City's Department of Technology computer centers. This contract provided for maintenance and related services. Ordinance No. 1160-2006 provided language that allows for renewals at the conclusion of the ending term agreed upon note in contract document EL006410 that was approved by City Council on July 10, 2006.

The purpose of this ordinance is to modify and extend the contract for continual maintenance of batteries and UPS used by the Department of technology for its computer related systems.

Liebert Corporation's has officially changed its name and Federal Identification number to - Liebert Global Services FID 43-1798453. This ordinance thereby request authorization to transfer all outstanding contracts previously approved with Liebert Corporation to Liebert Global Services, FID 43-1798453, Contract Compliance expiration date 02/23/2009.

The Director of Technology respectfully request approval of this ordinance to allow the Department of Technology to modify and extend its annual maintenance service agreement in accordance with the terms and conditions established in the original agreement.

This agreement will cost $31,216.10 for maintenance and related services for the UPS.


FISCAL IMPACT: Previous contracts for 2006 designated a total of $37,691.00 for services related to the UPS system, with Liebert Corporation. Funding for this modification is budgeted and available within the 2007 Department of Technology's internal services fund's budget. This modification will cover twelve months of service ending April 18, 2008. Approval of this ordinance will bring the contract aggregate total to $68,907.10
