Explanation

BACKGROUND:
The Division of Police needs to purchase computers and accessories. The Division of Police has already encumbered $94,758.07 against this contract and would like to establish additional funding. These additional funds in the amount of $70,000.00 will cover purchases for the remainder of the year.

Bid Information: The Purchasing Office has established Universal Term Contract FL001696, for Dell computers, monitors, servers, notebooks, projectors, handhelds, accessories, options, services, and installation services with Resource One Computer Systems Inc. This contract will expire March 31, 2007

It is requested that this Ordinance be handled in an emergency manner, in order to have the purchase order and acquire computers and accessories before year-end.

FISCAL IMPACT: This purchase will be made with Law Enforcement Seizure funds; there will be no effect on the financial status of the General Fund.

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Office has established Universal Term Contract FL001696 with Resource One Computer Systems Inc. for computers and accessories, and

WHEREAS, the Division of Police has already encumbered $94,758.07 against this contract, thus, legislation is required to encumber additional funds, and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Division of Police, Department of Public Safety, in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Finance Director to establish an additional contract for computers and accessories based on the above mentioned Universal Term Contract, for the immediate preservation of public health, peace, property and safet...
