Explanation

BACKGROUND: The Land Management Fund was created in September, 1998 to provide funds for various expenses associated with properties managed and maintained in the land bank that were primarily acquired through the foreclosure and forfeiture sales, donations and purchases. The various expenses associated with the management of these properties are publication costs, filing fees, court costs, title fees, utilities, property taxes and closing costs, liens, clean-up costs, etc.

FISCAL IMPACT: This legislation appropriates $15,000 from the unappropriated balance of the Land Management Fund for the administration of the Land Management program. The cash balance of this fund is approximately $223,000.

EMERGENCY: Emergency action is requested so that expenditures related to the administration of Land Management projects can be charged accordingly.
