Explanation
BACKGROUND: The City of Columbus, Department of Public Utilities, Division of Water, received a request from the Village of Shawnee Hills, asking that the City allow a welcome sign and landscape bed located near the right-of-way of the 5900 block of Glick Road remain encroaching on city property. This structure was built on city property as shown on the attached Exhibit A. The following legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Finance and Management to execute those documents necessary for the City to grant a revocable 0.006-acre encroachment easement and legally allow the sign and landscape bed to remain on city property. The Village of Shawnee Hills will be exclusively responsible for maintaining the sign and landscaping and, should the City need to use the area for any reason, the City will have the right to revoke the easement and the Village of Shawnee Hills will be required to immediately remove the sign and landscape bed at their sole cost and expense. A value of $1,225.00 for the encroachment easement was established.

CONTRACT COMPLIANCE: Not applicable.
FISCAL IMPACT: The City will receive a total of $1,225.00, to be deposited in the Water Operating Fund, Fund 6000, for granting the requested encroachment easement.
