To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Bishop Fred L. Marshall 1939-2024

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Fred L. Marshall. was born on January 9, 1939 in Hughes, Arkansas; and

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Marshall’s dedication and commitment led him to become a respected figure in the local community, the country and in many parts of the world; and

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Marshall’s life was a testimony to the transformative power of faith and the potential within us all to rise above our circumstances; and

WHEREAS, Bishop served as the Presiding Prelate of the Free Gospel Churches of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ following the transition of Presiding Prelate George Thomas and then served as the Emeritus Prelate of Free Gospel Churches of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and also as the Presiding Prelate of The Good N.E.W.S. Holy Convocation, founded in 1986 and the Emeritus Prelate of The Good N.E.W.S. Holy Convocation from 2022 until the time of his departure; and

WHEREAS, Bishop Marshall is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alice Marshall; beloved wife of over 52 years, Evangelist Mollie Marshall; siblings, Lucille Griffin, Booker T., Tommy, and Frank Marshall, and May Johnson. He is survived by his loving daughter, Tangela Dickerson; siblings, Leon (June) Marshall and Doretha Marshall Seals; a host of other relatives, the Smyrna Baptist Church Family, many dear sons and daughters in Christ and longtime friends, Men and Women of God.; and


WHEREAS,
the City of Columbus extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Bishop Fred Marshall., including loving daughter, Tangela Dickerson; siblings, Leon (June) Marshall and Doretha Marshall Seals; a host of other relatives now, therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby honor, recognize, and celebrate the life of Bishop Fred L. Marshall
