Explanation
1. BACKGROUND
This consent legislation authorizes the Director of Public Service to execute a Local Project Administration (LPA) agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation for 2 Bridge Rehabilitation projects included in the Bridge Rehabilitation - Annual Citywide Contract Project 1. These bridges are the High Street over SR104 bridge and the Groveport Road over SR104 bridge. The City is the lead agent for this project.

This bridge rehabilitation project consists of microsilica overlay and hydro-demolition of High Street over SR104 and Groveport Road over SR104.

This ordinance also authorizes the Department of Public Service to accept funds from the Ohio Department of Transportation for this project.

2. FISCAL IMPACT
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will be responsible for 80% of construction up to a maximum of $384,391.04 and the City will provide 20% of construction and inspection costs. The estimated total cost for this project is $528,537.68. The City's estimated share for this project is $96,097.76 for construction and $48,048.88 for inspection. ODOT's estimated share for this project is $384,391.04.

3. EMERGENCY DESIGNATION
Emergency action is requested to begin reconstruction of this bridge at the earliest possible date to provide for the safety of the travelling public.
