To declare Saturday, April 24, 2004 as Director Jesse Dodge Day within the City of Columbus.

WHEREAS, on this auspicious day East Columbus Civic Center Director Jesse Dodge and Mrs. Donna Dodge will be recognized and congratulated for dedicating ten years of outstanding service to the East Columbus community and Civic Association; and
WHEREAS, since 2001, Jesse Dodge has worked tirelessly to implement numerous improvements such as lobbying for infrastructure repairs to stop flooding in East Columbus; writing grants to maintain the East Columbus Civic Center; and establishing partnerships with area businesses and fellow residents to clean up the neighborhood during Pride Week; and
WHEREAS, through the Dodge's persistence and strong-willed approach to solving thorny problems, this community has received a multitude of rewards; and
WHEREAS, as the proud parents to 13 children, Director and Mrs. Dodge fully understand the importance of shaping community environment for the next generation; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby declare Saturday April 24, 2004 as Director Jesse Dodge Day within the City of Columbus.
