To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Michael Pearse O’Grady and to extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, Michael Pearse O’Grady was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and resided in the City of Columbus for the last 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Michael Pearse O’Grady graduated from The Ohio State University and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and was admitted into the Ohio State Bar Association in 1980; and

WHEREAS, Michael Pearse O’Grady served as the Assistant Attorney General from 1983-1995 and the US Attorney General from 1995-2000 until going into private practice with his partner David Kopech, opening Kopech & O’Grady, LLC; and

WHEREAS, Michael Pearse O’Grady was an avid reader, loved entertaining and playing and coaching sports; and

WHEREAS, Michael Pearse O’Grady was a generous, welcoming and compassionate man who was able to connect with people from all walks of life, lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was able to find the good in all he encountered; and

WHEREAS, Michael Pearse O’Grady is survived by numerous loving family members and friends, including his wife, Alison, their four children, his eleven siblings and more whose lives he touched; and

WHEREAS, Michael Pearse O’Grady’s generous nature and warm personality will live on in everyone’s hearts. He was truly a gift to the City and he will forever be missed; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

That this Council does hereby honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Michael Pearse O’Grady and extends our sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
