Explanation
BACKGROUND: Board of Health has been awarded a grant from the Ohio Department of Health to fund the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program for the period October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008. The Ohio Department of Health has provided $140,858.22 for the lease of real property to be used as clinic space for the WIC Program for the period October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008.

Emergency action is requested in order to avoid any delays in providing program services.
FISCAL IMPACT: The Health Special Revenue Fund will be reimbursed for the expenses upon receipt of a notice of award from the Ohio Department of Health. This grant does not generate revenue or require a City match.

To authorize and direct the Director of Finance and Management on behalf of the Board of Health to enter into lease contracts with five property owners for the lease of clinic space for the WIC program, for the period of October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008; to authorize a total expenditure of $140,858.22 from the Health Special Revenue Fund and the Health Department Grants Fund; and to declare an emergency.
