Explanation
Background: This ordinance authorizes the Franklin County Municipal Court Clerk to enter into the first year of three-year contract with Sterling Data Center LLC for remote data back up recovery services for the Clerk's Courtview and Dell server databases. This service will provide the Clerk with near " real time" back up, quicker recovery from data loss, and a more comprehensive disaster recovery system for viable data restoral.
Bid Information: On June 6, 2006, the Franklin County Municipal Court Clerk solicited requests for proposals (RFP) for remote data back-up recovery services. The solicitation (SA002059) closed on June 20, 2006. Proposals were received from five companies and reviewed by a committee of three in accordance with the Columbus City Code, section 329.14. In agreement with the committee, the Director awarded the bid to Sterling Data Center LLC, the best bidder with the lowest cost per gigebit.
Emergency: This ordinance is being submitted as an emergency measure to meet the immediate needs of the Franklin County Municipal Court Clerk's office for a more comprehensive disaster recovery system for the Clerk 's databases.
Fiscal Impact: The cost of $34,200.00 for the first year is available within the Franklin County Municipal Court Clerk's computer fund 2006 budget.
