Title
To recognize the Greater Hilltop Area League for the Arts on 15 years of promoting the arts in the Greater Hilltop neighborhood.
Body
WHEREAS, the Greater Hilltop Area League for the Arts was founded in September 1990; and
WHEREAS, the Greater Hilltop Area League for the Arts is celebrating fifteen years of serving artists and art lovers in the Greater Hilltop and beyond; and
WHEREAS, the Greater Hilltop Area League for the Arts has provided scholarships to the Columbus College of Art and Design's Saturday Program to several participants in the League's annual student exhibit; and
WHEREAS, the Greater Hilltop Area League for the Arts has hosted dozens of art exhibits of two-dimensional artwork at various venues in Columbus, including the Riffe Gallery, Franklin Park Conservatory, Columbus State Community College, Fifth Avenue Galleries, City of Columbus recreation centers, Columbus Public Library branches, and many local restaurants and businesses; and
WHEREAS, the Greater Hilltop Area League for the Arts annually publishes "The Pinnacle," a collection of poetry, short stories, drawings, and photographs; and
WHEREAS, the members and volunteers of the Greater Hilltop Area League for the Arts continues to believe that the arts are for everyone; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby recognize the Greater Hilltop Area League for the Arts on its 15 years of promoting the arts in all forms in the Greater Hilltop.
