Title: To accept property to be used as public right-of way; to rename a portion of Gemini Place and to accept, dedicate, and name Ikea Way and Worthington Road; and to declare an emergency. ($0.00)
Explanation

The Department of Public Service, Division of Infrastructure Management recently received a request from Smith & Hale LLC, on behalf of Polaris 91, LLC, to rename a section of Gemini Place, from the intersection with I-71 northbound exit ramp to the intersection with Orion Place, to “Ikea Way”. Furthermore, this request is to name a future road, from the intersection of Gemini Place and Orion Place, extending in an easterly direction for approximately 3,132 feet, to the intersection with a realigned Worthington Road, as “Ikea Way”. Furthermore, this request is to name a future road, from the east terminus of Ikea Way, extending in an easterly direction for approximately 400 feet, to the current Columbus corporate boundary, as “Worthington Road”. Furthermore, this request is to name a future road, from the east terminus of Ikea Way, extending in a southerly direction for approximately 309 feet, to the current Columbus corporate boundary, as “Worthington Road”.

Ohio Revised Code Chapter 723.03 requires that property proposed for use as a public street or alley must be accepted and dedicated as public right-of-way by an ordinance specifically passed for such purpose.

The proposed names, “Ikea Way” and “Worthington Road”, conform to the Division’s current street naming convention and have been reserved until such time that this request has been complete...
