Explanation

Background:
A modification to Contract No. EL004520 is needed for additional services related to the 2004 Tennis Courts Project.

Amount of modification is $32,565.00 bringing the total modified contract cost to $583,635.00 including a contingency of $14,795.00.

Additional services required are additional drainage and paving improvements to newly constructed tennis courts at Carriage Place. Changes required are due to soil conditions at court locations.

The Contract Compliance Number for Sheedy Paving is #31-0629220.

Emergency legislation is requested as the work has already been completed.

Fiscal Impact:
$32,565.00 is required and budgeted in the Parks and Recreation Voted 1999/2004 Bond Fund to meet the financial obligation of this contract modification.

WHEREAS, it is necessary to modify the contract Sheedy Paving for additional services related to the 2004 Tennis Courts Project; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to modify said contract as this work has already been completed; now, therefore

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

Section 1. That the Director of Recreation and Parks be and he is hereby authorized and directed to modify Contract No. EL004520 with Sheedy Paving for additional services related to the 2004 Tennis Courts Project, in accordance with plans and specifications on file in the Recreation and Parks Department.
