Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the appropriation of $57,319.00 within the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund to the Franklin County Municipal Court to cover fourth quarter personnel cost for the Court’s navigator program and full-time social worker that are both housed within the Self-Help Center at the Court. Since 2023, the navigator program has been critical in assisting residents who are navigating eviction court. The social worker is both a part of the navigator program but additionally is able to assist individuals who may need help accessing services but are not currently under the threat of eviction. These staffers have helped to reduce the workload of court personnel and residents have expressed positive interactions including connection to resources to remain stably housed.
Fiscal Impact: Funding is available within the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund.
