Explanation

BACKGROUND: This legislation amends the capital budget and authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to contract with various licensed Home Improvement Contractors to provide prioritized essential home repair services to low and moderate-income households in Neighborhood Pride neighborhoods in Columbus through the Home Safe and Sound Program. The legislation authorizes the transfer of $405,000 within the Housing Preservation Fund to preserve the local supply of decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing for low-income families.
