Explanation

BACKGROUND:

Columbus Public Heath was awarded additional funds for the Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant program for the period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021. Ordinance number 0117-2021 was approved by City Council on February 1, 2021. This ordinance is needed to modify by increasing the contract with Franklin County Public Health in the amount of $335.72 for a total contract amount not to exceed $166,758.02 for the time period July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

Emergency action is requested for this contract modification in order to ensure Columbus has a harm reduction program to continue to save lives.

FISCAL IMPACT: The Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant budget will provide, upon modification, $166,758.02 for the contract with Franklin County Public Health.

WHEREAS, it is necessary to modify, by increasing contract PO235439 with Franklin County Public Health through June 30, 2021; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the transfer of $335.72 within the Health Grant Fund 2251; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance is being submitted as an emergency measure so that timely services can proceed without interruption; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of Columbus Public Health in that it is immediately necessary to modify, by increasing, the contract with Franklin County Public Health, PO235439, for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; Now, therefore,
