Explanation

BACKGROUND: This ordinance authorizes the Board of Health to modify an existing contract with Life Sparx LTD dba The MORE Life Partnership for trauma services for the period of April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2024 in an amount not to exceed $200,000 for a new contract amount of $404,840.00.

This contractor is a nonprofit organization and is exempt from certification.

Columbus Public Health has a need to continue trauma services with established faith based organizations to communities in need. The services continued by this partnership include: counseling and therapy services, incidental supplies to communities in need, space rental for therapy services, and salary for project manager, outreach campaigns, outreach events and group sessions.

Emergency action is requested in order to not delay the continued trauma services for the community, which services may expire without passage of this legislation.

FISCAL IMPACT: $200,000.00 is budgeted in the Health Special Purpose Fund for Trauma services with established faith based organizations in the community.
