Title: To authorize the Director of the Department of Public Utilities to enter into contract, under the authority of Columbus City Codes 329.15, with the Columbus International Program for research and analysis on utility compensation issues, to authorize the expenditure of $23,100 from the Water Systems Operating Fund, and to declare an emergency ($23,100)
Explanation
This ordinance authorizes entering into contract with the Columbus International Program (CIP). CIP works with a variety of businesses, non-profit agencies and government organizations to provide unique services from individuals of diverse backgrounds. Through this contract, CIP will make available services related to utility compensation matters to the Department of Public Utilities. Specific services to be provided may include the collection and analysis of utility compensation data, investigation and reporting on customary compensation practices, development of a utility compensation model and other similar services.

The Columbus International Program is a non-profit agency, and as such,
authorization for this contract is provided by Columbus City Codes 329.15

WHEREAS, The Columbus International Program is a non-profit organization that provides a variety of services to local businesses, non-profit agencies and government organizations; and


WHEREAS, The Department of Public Utilities desires to obtain the services of the Columbus International Program to provide research and analysis services on utility compensation issues; and


WHEREAS, An emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Utilities in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Public Utilities Director to enter into contract with the Columbus International Program to obtain services related to utility compensation issues for immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property and safety; now, therefore,
