Explanation
1. BACKGROUND
The City of Columbus, Department of Public Service in engaged in the Roadway - Multimodal - Mt Vernon Avenue Phase 1 project. The project consists of improvements to Martin Luther King Jr Blvd / Mt Vernon Avenue corridor from Hamilton Avenue to North Champion Avenue. The project includes improvements to add on-street separate bike paths with added concrete medians and floating bus islands at various locations. Additional improvements include repaving the full width of the roadway and sidewalk repairs from Hamilton Avenue to North Champion Avenue.

A portion of real property owned by the City of Columbus known as Mt Vernon Avenue, Franklin County Parcel Numbers 010-018889-00, needs to be converted to and dedicated as right-of-way for roadway purposes to accommodate the improvements proposed by this project. Current plans identify this parcel as Parcel 29-WD and indicate 0.004 acres from 010-018889 will need to be converted and dedicated for this purpose, to dedicate the property as road right-of-way and name the road right-of-way as Mt Vernon Avenue and Twentieth Street.

This ordinance permits the City to convert and dedicate the property as road right-of-way and name the road right-of-way as Mt Vernon Avenue and Twentieth Street.

2. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no expenditure associated with this Ordinance.
