Explanation

The Health Department currently contracts with Fireproof Records Center for the storage, retrieval, and destruction of records of various programs. Health Department personnel have determined that competitively bidding these services would not result in any cost savings because of the high cost to move over two thousand boxes of records, currently being stored at Fireproof, to another facility. Fireproof has provided quality services in the past, therefore, it is the intent of the Health Department to renew the contract with Fireproof Records Center. This ordinance will waive provisions of the City Code pertaining to purchasing regulations. Fireproof Records Center's contract compliance number is 314366184.

FISCAL IMPACT: $25,000 was budgeted for this contract in the 2003 Health Special Revenue Fund.
