Background: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to issue purchase orders for ultra-low sulfur diesel and bio diesel for the Fleet Management Division. Fiscal Impact: The Fleet Management Division expended $2.5 million for bulk bio and ultra-low diesel fuel deliveries in 2015. The expected expenditure through the 2016 fiscal year for bulk bio/diesel fuel deliveries is projected to be $2.5 million; however market price volatility could impact this projection.
Emergency action is requested to ensure an uninterrupted supply of bulk bio diesel and ultra-low sulfur diesel fuels. These fuels are used by City vehicles, including Police, Fire and Refuse Collection vehicles.
