Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to enter into a grant agreement with the non-profit organization, Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed (FLOW), for mural painting and project coordination services on pump stations along the Olentangy River.
The grant will provide an upfront payment to the Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed, who will oversee artist outreach, selection and ongoing maintenance. They will engage with local artists through their webpage and social media. In collaboration with DPU, FLOW will review portfolios and select finalists for preliminary designs. Public input will be gathered on the designs through surveys and final decisions will be made by the City of Columbus Department of Public Utilities. FLOW will provide stipends and payments to the selected artist using these granted funds. Flow will also provide touch ups and maintenance in the future.
