BACKGROUND:
This ordinance authorizes a change to the Columbus City Codes to amend Chapter 153 of the Columbus City Codes to provide technical corrections and clarify the role and operation of the Information Technology Investment and Planning Committee.

Body
WHEREAS, Chapter 153 of the Columbus City Codes was recently amended to establish the Information Technology Investment and Planning Committee to guide citywide technology strategy, investment, and planning; and
WHEREAS, subsequent review identified technical inconsistencies, and areas requiring clarification to ensure effective implementation of the committee’s purpose and duties; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to clarify the committee’s role, organizational structure, and procedural authority, as well as the committee’s alignment with procurement requirements under Chapter 329; and
WHEREAS, these amendments are intended to improve clarity, planning and operational effectiveness without altering the fundamental intent of the legislation; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 153 of the Columbus City Codes is hereby amended as shown on Exhibit A attached hereto. (Ordinance 1000-2026_Exhibit A Chapter 153)
SECTION 2. That the existing provisions of the Columbus City Codes as amended by SECTION 1 are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
