To honor and recognize Connie Gallaher and her Leadership as President of Ohio Dominican University
Body
WHEREAS, Connie Gallaher grew up in Northwest Ohio on a family farm, where she learned the values of service, hard work, and integrity that have guided her throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, Connie pursued a nursing career after attending Ohio State University, dedicating 45 years to providing compassionate care and serving in various administrative roles across Columbus and Central Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Connie's leadership and vision have been instrumental in overseeing major hospital builds and programmatic developments, including at OhioHealth where she played a crucial role in enhancing orthopedics, neuroscience, and home care programs; and
WHEREAS, Connie answered the call to serve as President of Ohio Dominican University, where she led efforts to transform higher education and uphold the institution's mission of preparing students to become ethical and effective leaders; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure at Ohio Dominican University, Connie embodied the values of the institution, fostering a culture of service, community engagement, study, and prayer, and promoting diversity and inclusion within the university and its surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, Connie's retirement from Ohio Dominican University marks the beginning of a new chapter, allowing her to return to her roots in Northwest Ohio to be with her family, including her proud military connections and her extensive network of relatives; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby honor and recognize, Connie Gallaher for her exemplary leadership, dedication to service, and contributions to health care and education in our community.
