To recognize and congratulate Grange Insurance on the occasion of its 75th anniversary.

WHEREAS, Grange Insurance was founded in 1935 to offer affordable auto insurance to rural Ohio drivers; and
WHEREAS, over the years, Grange expanded its product offerings and geographic footprint, building a financially sound and strong company that strives to serve its policyholders no matter how large their losses; and
WHEREAS, the company remains committed to its independent agents, who have helped Grange become a $1.2 billion insurance provider rated 'A' (Excellent) by A. M. Best, the largest and longest-established company devoted to issuing financial strength ratings of insurance organizations; and
WHEREAS, Grange Insurance works to improve the communities it serves, providing support to 501(c) (3) organizations who work in the areas of health and human services, education, and the arts; and
WHEREAS, the company made an important and lasting contribution to Columbus with the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, a wildlife preservation and community education center that has anchored the transformation of the Whittier Peninsula; and
WHEREAS, Columbus and Central Ohio have benefitted from Grange Insurance's presence as an engine of economic development, an employer of our residents, and a supporter of important philanthropic causes; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That we recognize and congratulate Grange Insurance on the occasion of its 75th anniversary.
