Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to modify contract DL010300 with Lifecare Alliance by extending the contract termination date from March 31, 2007 to December 31, 2007. The additional time will allow the contactor to continue to support the operation of the Chores Program. An emergency is requested so this contract can be extended without interruption.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funds are needed for this modification.

To authorize the Director of the Department of Development to modify a contract with Lifecare Alliance to extend the termination date to December 31, 2007; and to declare an emergency.
Body
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Development desires to modify Contract DL010300 with Lifecare Alliance by extending the contract from March 31, 2007 to December 31, 2007; and
WHEREAS, this modification will allow the contractor to continue to support the operation of the Chores Program, and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Housing Division in that it is immediately necessary to approve this Ordinance so this contract can be extended without interruption, all for the immediate preservation of the public health, property, safety and welfare; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That the Director of the Department of Development is hereby authorized to modify Contract DL010300 with Lifecare Alliance by extending the contract termination date from March 31, 2007 to December 31, 2007.
Section 2. That this modification is made pursuant to Section 329.16 of the Columbus City Code.
