Explanation

BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes an amendment to the 2005 Capital Improvements Budget to allow sufficient budget authority for the following Capital Improvements Project, for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage:

610704: Linden Ditch Area Wide Storm System Imp.

This is a companion piece to Ordinance Number 0458-2006. This piece allows the expenditure of funds from this project to reimburse Miracit Development Corporation for the construction of a stormwater detention pond and other stormwater capital improvements for Greenview Estates. This property is part of the Columbus Housing Initiatives project for affordable housing and will include environmentally friendly products and practices.

EMERGENCY DESIGNATION: This ordinance is submitted as an emergency in order to post the transaction concurrently with the companion expenditure piece, which is an emergency.

FISCAL IMPACT: The Division is requesting an amendment to the 2005 Capital Improvements budget for purposes of establishing sufficient budget authority for this expenditure. There is currently $125,000 in budget authority for this project. This amendment will transfer $728,082 from Project 610960 - Bexvie Avenue Stormwater System to provide sufficient authority.

WHEREAS, Miracit Development Corporation will construct stormwater capital improvements for Greenview Estates on behalf of the Division of Sewerage and Drainage; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 0458-2006 allows the Director of Public Utilities to execute an agreement to reimburse Miracit Development Corporation for these improvements; and
