To declare May, 2004 as Dr. Arthur L. Clark Month.
Body
WHEREAS, after 45 years as a Champion of Children, Dr. Arthur L. Clark has retired from the practice of pediatric medicine, as of April 19th of 2004; and
 
WHEREAS, hundreds of Columbus citizens have grown to become healthy, contributing adults through Dr. Clark's loving care and medical expertise; and
 
WHEREAS, Dr. Clark demonstrated his talents very early on as a High School student when he entered college after finishing the 11th grade under an early admissions program and then went on to earn a degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia; and   
 
WHEREAS, through his special talents and hard work Dr. Clark has received many honors and awards, including, but not limited to, Certificate of Award from the Ohio General Assembly for Outstanding Medical Service to Children's Hospital; Community Service Award by the Academy of Medicine of Columbus and Franklin County; and Dedication of the Arthur L. Clark Pediatric Clinic at Children's Hospital; and
 
WHEREAS, his dedication to children carried over in his own family while parenting with his beloved wife Thelma, who passed in 1998, when they raised three (3) sons, Arthur, Jr., Lloyd, and Michael, and counseled their five grandchildren; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this Council does hereby declare May, 2004 as Dr. Arthur L. Clark Month.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be presented to Dr. Arthur L. Clark as evidence of our warmth and high esteem for his contributions to the City of Columbus.
