This legislation authorizes the Public Service Director to exercise the second of five renewal options to modify and extend contract EL001674 with K & M Kleening Service at the Columbus Health Department, 240 Parsons Avenue in the amount of $294,000 for custodial services. The original contract was authorized by Ordinance Number 1755-01 on October 22, 2001. The contract shall continue from October 22, 2003, through October 21, 2004. Renewal of this contract has been coordinated with the Health Department. 2002 expenses for this contract were $280,000, which was authorized by Ordinance 1693-02 passed November 11, 2002.

Contract Compliance Number 31-1243220 expiration date May 24, 2004.

EMERGENCY ACTION is requested so that custodial services may continue without interruption.

Fiscal Impact: Funding for this contract was budgeted and is available from the Facilities Management 2003 Budget.

WHEREAS, Ordinance Number 1755-01, passed by Council on October 22, 2001, authorized the original contract between the Facilities Management Division, Public Service Department, and K & M Kleening Service for custodial services at the Columbus Health Department, and

WHEREAS, the Facilities Management Division requests to extend the contract with K & M Kleening for another year beginning October 22, 2003, and

WHEREAS, and emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Facilities Management Division, Public Service Department, in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Public Service Director to modify and extend a contract with K & M Kleening Service for custodial services at the Columbus Health Depa...
