Explanation
1. BACKGROUND:
This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to execute a professional engineering services contract modification with Malcolm-Pirnie, Inc., in connection with the contract for wastewater treatment and collection system regulatory compliance services for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage. These services are required to provide the engineering and technical expertise which is necessary to assist the Division in its efforts to adequately address state and federal regulatory matters.
2. PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES MODIFICATION INFORMATION: The Division of Sewerage and Drainage has determined that these services cannot be performed by city personnel at this time, and established this contract for purposes of funding regulatory and technical service consultation services incrementally by modification. This modification is the final, planned modification for these services under the terms of the original procurement effort performed in 2000. The contract total including this modification is $1,047,500.00.
3. FISCAL IMPACT:
The Division has included funding for this contract modification within its 2004 Sanitary Operating Budget.
