Explanation
BACKGROUND: The Franklin County Engineer has contracted for the design and construction of the Cleveland Avenue - Oakland Park to Ferris Road Project. The Division of Water has requested the addition of various water line improvements to this project. The City of Columbus has agreed to reimburse the Franklin County Engineer for the additional design and construction costs associated with the various water line improvements.
FISCAL IMPACT: The 2003 C.I.B. is being amended and funds are being transferred to provide the monies needed for this project. Emergency legislation is being requested to allow for timely payment of completed work.

To authorize the Director of Public Utilities to reimburse the Franklin County Engineer for the design and construction of various water line improvements in conjunction with the Cleveland Avenue - Oakland Park to Ferris Road Project for the Division of Water, to amend the 2003 C.I.B., to authorize the City Auditor to transfer funds within the Waterworks Enlargement Voted 1991 Bonds Fund, to authorize the expenditure of $1,200,000.00 from the Water Works Enlargement Voted 1991 Bonds Fund, and to declare an emergency ($1,200,000.00)

WHEREAS, the Franklin County Engineer, is currently designing and constructing road improvements for the Cleveland Avenue - Oakland Park to Ferris Road Project, and
WHEREAS, the Division of Water has requested the addition of various water line improvements to this project, and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus did agree to reimburse the Franklin County Engineer for the design and construction of the various water line improvements, and
