Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to modify past, present and future contracts and purchase orders with Aldea Services LLC. Aldea Services LLC. has been purchased by LJB, Inc This ordinance authorizes the assignment of all past, present and future business done by the City of Columbus from Aldea Services LLC. Tax ID # 26-2425947 to LJB, Inc. Tax ID # 31-1120919.
No additional funds are necessary to modify the contract(s) as requested. There is no change in the type of services being provided and the original contract was formally bid. The original terms and conditions remain in effect.
EMERGENCY DESIGNATION: The Department of Public Utilities respectfully requests this legislation be considered an emergency in order to maintain an uninterrupted source of Professional Engineering Services.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funding is required to modify the option contract. The Department of Public Utilities has set aside funding for the estimated expenditures.

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Utilities has a contract and open purchase orders for Professional Engineering Services for use by Department of Public Utilities; and,
WHEREAS, Aldea Services LLC. has been purchased by LJB, Inc. and in addition to notifying the City, LJB, Inc. has agreed to honor the past, present and future contracts and agreements; and,
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Finance and Management in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Director to modify all contracts and purchase orders established and in process with Aldea Services LLC. in order to maintain an uninterrupted source of Professional Engineering Services, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safe...
