Explanation
The Northern Pickaway County Joint Economic Development District Contract entered into by and among the City of Columbus, the Village of Ashville and the Township of Harrison, Pickaway County Ohio establishes a tax within the District and provides for the administration and collection of that tax to be by the City of Columbus. This Council has previously approved the Joint Economic Development District contract , but now authority to enter into a contract to provide services to the JEDD must be established. This legislation authorizes the City Auditor to inter into contract with the District to perform services related to the administration and collection of the tax adopted by the District Board.
Title
To authorize and direct the City Auditor to enter into contract with the Northern Pickaway County Joint Economic Development District for the City of Columbus to administer and collect the income tax of said Joint Economic Development District.
Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1045-2006, the City of Columbus entered into contract with the Village of Ashville, and the Township of Harrison, Pickaway County, Ohio to create and provide for the operation of the Northern Pickaway County Joint Economic Development District in accordance with Ohio Revised Code Sections 715.72 through 715.81 for their mutual benefit and for the benefit of their residents and of the State of Ohio; and
WHEREAS, such contract provided for the adoption of a resolution imposing an income tax at a rate of 2%, which maybe changed from time to time to equal the highest rate imposed by any one of the parties to the contract, the revenues from which shall be used for the purposes of the District and JEDD Parties; and
WHEREAS, said contract provides for the administration and collection of the income tax to be by the City of Columbus; now, therefore,
