To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Jean English and to extend our sincerest condolences to her family and friends on the occasion of her passing on Monday, March 15, 2012.
Body
WHEREAS, Jean English, a devoted mother, loving wife and talented interior decorator, lived a full life until she passed away on March 15, 2012 at the age of 88; and
 
WHEREAS, Jean English was preceded in death by her husband, Phil English and is survived by eight children, 23 grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and brother, Jack Easterday; and
 
WHEREAS, Jean English was a devout Christian, being a founding member of both Valley Presbyterian Church and Fellowship Bible Church in Bainbridge, Ohio; and
 
WHEREAS, Jean English opened her first interior design studio in the 1960s in Bainbridge and was an acclaimed decorator of private residences, model homes, offices and restaurants in the Cleveland area and later in the Bahamas.  Her work has been featured in House Beautiful; and
 
WHEREAS, Jean English always lived an active life, even riding a bike at the age of 88. She was a friend to many and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this council does hereby honor, recognize and celebrate the long and fulfilling life of Jean English and extend our sincerest condolences to her family and friends on the occasion of her passing.
