WHEREAS, Thursday, May 16, 2024 is the Columbus Urban League’s annual Herstory Makers signature event, which will honor eight trailblazing women in Central Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Stephanie A. Smith serves as senior vice president and chief inclusion officer for Fifth Third Bank. She is responsible for creating and executing a holistic internal and external strategy, which supports employees and partners with diverse suppliers; and
WHEREAS, For over more than 20 years, she has worked in various areas of the bank; including Business Banking, Mortgage Lending, Retail, Commercial and the Foundation Office; and

WHEREAS, Stephanie was named one of Savoy Magazine’s Most Influential Executives in Diversity & Inclusion for 2023, one of the Most Influential Executives in Diversity and Inclusion, she was also honored to be recognized as one of the TOP 10 Chief Diversity Officers in the USA, in 2021 she was named as a YWCA Career Woman of Achievement, along with many other acknowledgments; and

WHEREAS, Under her leadership Fifth Third has been named one of America’s top corporations for women-owned companies by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council, the National Minority Supplier Development Council and was named to the Best of the Decade list by Minority Business Network magazine; and

WHEREAS, Stephanie is a passionate community advocate as she serves on boards for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Social Venture Partners, Cincinnati Shakespeare Theater Company, and is a member of the Executive Cabinet for the Carl Lindner School of Business and serves as a member of the Cabinet for the Rise Beyond Violence Campaign for Women Helping Women; now, therefore,
