Explanation

Background: This legislation authorizes the Director of Recreation and Parks to pay wages and benefits to Dianne Weber who was employed as a Fiscal Assistant II for the Department. Ms. Weber inadvertently worked 45.5 hours for Pay Period 6, ending 03/22/08, putting her ten (10) hours over the allotted 480 hours allowed for temporary employees. The Department of Recreation and Parks requests a payment of $202.08 be made to Dianne Weber for wages and benefits earned by inadvertently working over the allotted time of 480 hours.

Fiscal Impact: The Recreation and Parks Department has determined that funding for this expenditure will come from the Recreation and Parks Operating Fund.

WHEREAS, it is necessary to compensate Dianne Weber for hours and benefits earned while under the employment of the Recreation and Parks Department; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Weber was employed as a 480 hour temporary employee who worked 45.5 hours during Pay Period 6, ending 03/22/08, putting her ten (10) hours over the allotted 480 hour limit; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to compensate Ms. Weber for time worked for the preservation of public health, peace, property and safety; now, therefore

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS

Section 1. That the Director of Recreation and Parks is hereby authorized and directed to make payment to Dianne Weber in the amount of $202.08 for wages and benefits earned while working as a 480 hour temporary employee for the Recreation and Parks ...
