To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Christion Xavier Files, 2002-2023

Body

WHEREAS, Christion Xavier Files was born on December 31, 2002 in Akron, Ohio; and

 

WHEREAS, Christion grew up in Central Ohio, attending school at Liberty Christian, Lincoln Elementary, Mansion Day School, The Wellington School, and New Albany High School; and

 

WHEREAS, Christion excelled at everything he poured his heart into, with a special passion for music and sports, and was known as an accomplished singer, dancer, basketball player, and as part of the school record holding 4x400m relay team at New Albany High School; and

WHEREAS, Christion selflessly shared his talents with the community, volunteering his time at the Vineyard Columbus Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels, the Columbus Chapter of Jack and Jill, and spending time with his classmates and community members; and

WHEREAS, Christion continued improving himself at Morehouse College in Atlanta, where he continued his stellar performance in track and field while also excelling academically and professionally, participating in an internship program with American Family Insurance and being named to the SIAC All-Academic Team; and

WHEREAS, Christion aspired to make a difference in his community, and his unique personality, charisma, character, and commitment to his fellow community member left an impact that will never be forgotten; and


WHEREAS,
the City of Columbus extends its sincere condolences to the friends and family of Christion Xavier Filer and joins everyone in the community who is mourning the recent passing of a young man who represented the best of Columbus; now, therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby honor, recognize, and celebrate the life of Christion Xavier Files.
